Ganesha is the bringer of good fortune and the remover of obstacles. We pray to Lord Ganesha before embarking on any new endeavor. In fact, before worshiping all other Gods and Goddesses, we always perform a small puja to Lord Ganesh right in the beginning.

He is called Vishneshwar, Vighnavinashak exactly for this reason!

Ganesha Chaturthi is an Auspicious occasion when people worship Lord Ganesha, along with Goddess Gowri, and pray that he bless us all with Health, Wealth, Joy and everything that the heart wishes…

May the Ganesha Rangoli bring Joy to all and may all Good things happen to everyone…

Dasara Rangoli

Wish You All A Wonderful Dasara !

What a wonderful festive feeling this is… It is as if the entire world is wearing a mantle of festivity!

With this Mandala Rangoli, let us all pray to Goddess Mata Durga to bless us all during Navratri.

The tenth day of Dasara – or the day after the last day of Navratri, which is Mahanavami – Vijaya Dashami. This is the day when victory of good over evil is celebrated all over.

It was on this day that Lord Rama slayed the ten-headed demon king Ravaneshwara – Dus-hara – so Dusshera or Dasara. It is to be noted that Dush also means evil in Sanskrit. People mark this event by burning Ravana effigies all over India.

While Dasara festival is celebrated all over the country, it is really very big in West Bengal and also in Mysore, with the Mysore Dasara Parade being world famous and attracting tourists in millions. The majestic Mysore Palace is fully lit during the entire season, in fact the whole of Mysore City is brightly lit up and looks amazingly festive!

With Sree Chamundeshwari of the Chamundi hills – the Goddess known for slaying the demon Mahishasura, hence known as Mahishasuramardhini – being the reigning deity of Mysore, it stands to reason that Navratri is really big in Mysore.

May the Goddess Sree Chamundeshwari bless us all and take care of one and all…
